I Want Roger Federer to Win 2014 US Open

Now that Roger Federer has reached the semi final of 2014 US Open, am quite sure that many of his fans would love to see this legend lift the US Open trophy one more time. He is only two steps away from doing it right now and let’s hope he does that with ease.

Everyone who watched Federer vs Monfils match would agree that, Roger never appeared to be like a player of 33 years age. Majority might have thought that he wouldn’t reach semi final after seeing Monfils win the first two sets. But not Federer fans; they are used to and know pretty well that Roger can come back and win from any position. Preciously that is what happened by the end of the game. After losing the first two sets by 6-4, 6-3, Federer posted a strong comeback and won 3 back to back sets to seal his place in the US Open semi finals yet another time. During this thriller of a match, Federer successfully saved two match points and managed to win the 3 sets consecutively. This match was all about class vs energy. Gael Monfils too must be appreciated for his fighting spirit. He put up a great show. The final scorecard read 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 5-7, 1-6.

If Roger Federer wins this 2014 US Open tournament, it would be his 18th singles grand slam title and 6th US Open title. This would help him extend his own world record of winning maximum grand slam singles titles by one more. And if he wins this US Open, he would surpass Jimmy Connors and Sampras for most titles at US Open. Currently he shares the record with them with 4 titles each.

He is 33 and not many years are left in his tennis career. Like some millions of his fans, I too feel that Roger Federer should win this 2014 US Open title. It would be a fitting tribute to the greatest player of the game (Well, at least for me). All the best Roger, go and win it for us.
